Catalina Rodríguez Villazón

Catalina Rodríguez Villazón is an artist from Villaviciosa, Asturias (Spain). Graduated in Pharmacy and Environmental Engineering, in 2012 she takes up her passion for art and it is in 2017 when she leaves her specialized work in air quality in Santiago de Compostela and moves to Madrid to dedicate herself full time to painting. In 2019 she finished the master’s degree in Artistic Professions of the South School in the Círculo de Bellas Artes.

In her works, the combination of strength and delicacy, the search for balance and the importance of gesture are recurrent themes.
Her main means of expression is watercolor and she values ​​collaborate and work with other languages ​​(​​for being a) source of inspiration and possibilities. She has taught watercolor workshops as an artist in residence, in photography and yoga retreats in Croatia, Portugal, Cuba and Greece. He has also given workshops in places as different as the Platanera in A Illa de Arousa, La Cosmica in Gijon, The Cervantine Society or Lady Madonna in Madrid. This fall she will travel to Tokyo and Los Angeles to continue exploring her practice and work on various projects.
