Maite Rosende (Donostia, 1991) approaches art as a space for play unrestricted by medium, combining her roots in illustration with the raw energy of mural painting.
Her distinct visual universe has established her as one of the most prominent voices in today’s scene, earning her the Etxepare Award (2024) and the Euskadi Illustration Award (2025). Her work has also crossed borders, selected for renowned international platforms such as the Biennial of Illustration Bratislava (Slovakia), the Bologna Children’s Book Fair (Italy), and the Ibero-American Illustration Catalog (Mexico).
Author of several picture books with international reach and exhibition history, she currently creates and shares ideas at Gilda, a collective studio space in Donostia that she shares with six other artists.
